Update

No pics, I'm posting here at work. Thought I haven't given an update on Miss Ella for quite a while! Where to start? She STILL doesn't talk. She must figure that she can get across her problems to us easy enough so doesn't bother. We should start ignoring her pointing and starve her - maybe she'd start talking? Na, we'll just be patient! She's still mostly interested in running around. Her toys hold little interest - although a little xylophone-type one is quite a hit right now. Books are still something she enjoys looking at - flipping through and memorizing all the pictures. She's got one scratch and sniff one that she tries to scratch and she has the right facial expression and noises for the sniffing part. She might just be a really good mimic. She really loves her Baby Einstein videos. Starts hopping up and down and squealing when the Disney DVD music and symbol shows on the screen. Pretty cute. She also perks up when she hears the DVD player turning on - the tray shuffles around... Her bellybutton is also a very interesting portion of her body. She'll poke it and root around for it if you ask her where it is. She's figured out our door handles - they're the lever type. Used to be she'd just turn it, but now she knows how to pull too... Nothing is safe - especially the pantry!!! Her favorite thing is still the stuffed tabby her daddy bought her for her birthday. He gets big snuggles and kisses when he appears. She has 12 teeth now - all 8 at the front and 4 molars. She eats everything we give her (whew!). Her favorite food is probably grapes though. She devours them. David also likes putting a bit of food (cracker or similar) in between his lips. She gives him a kiss and retrieves it with her teeth! She is also partial to upside-down food eating. Pippin tolerates her - but likes her when she holds his cat treats for him to take from her. She just glows. Can't believe she's so close to him and he's nibbling on her fingers! He sometimes rubs his head on her fingers too. She is just thrilled. However, if there are no treats involved, he is conspicuously absent or out of reach when she's around. She's now had 2 Wee Wigglers at the zoo. Got to meet a snake, turtle, African Grey parrot and a large parakeet (which I can't remember the name of...) She got to touch a live snake and gave a big grin when he flicked his tongue out at her. She got to feel the feathers on a couple of stuffed birds (snowy owl, great horned owl, mallard) and liked being tickled by the big ostrich feather. She's getting more interested in shape sorting and will sit for 5-10 minutes in a stretch (wow!). Lunch is over - hope you liked the mini-update! We have some things coming up - shots for Hepatitis because we're going to Mexico for 2 weeks in March. Thank goodness it's a direct flight! Worried a bit about it because it's so long - last flight she was on was in August... Bought a DVD player so we'll have to hope that is enough entertainment!

Thanks or the update! Glad to hear that things are going well...Some people say that babies either advance physically or verbally-didn't she walk pretty early? Mine was opposite-talking at 1 year but not walking.
Have fun in Mexico-hope the flight won't be too bad! At least both of you will be going so you can take turns!
Haven't changed to the new blog for the same reason you haven't :P
